Personal Branding
From Social to Social Media
Personal branding has grown in popularity thanks in part by the Internet, as social media and the digital era grow. Those determined to be seen in a certain way to others work tirelessly to maintain their online identity in a way they want others to view them. With the growth in social media, employers have begun using social media tools as a form of background checks before offering applicants interviews. Personal branding has turned to a useful tool for job-seekers to improve their professional standing. As an online open-source, social media has become a place that is fulfilled with highly reliable and resourceful information to target user identities.
Know What You Need
Personal branding is extremely important in capitalizing on your skills. It is an activity that showcases your strong points and builds your brand for opportunities to form a superb interpersonal network of information and connections for professional growth (Kawano. 2013).
Knowing the difference between the two sides of personal branding, inside and outside branding, is a great way to understand what you need to work on to improve your brand. Inside branding is a clear example of your strong points through self-analysis, while outside branding focuses on showing those strengths as a specialty (Kawano. 2013).
